Welcome to my personal website

Hi, my name is Am (Short for Amrinderjit) and welcome to my site. So, here we are, I'm on your screen, let me tell you little about myself. I am currently studying Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence at Southampton University, which is pretty cool.

I've come from Derby, which is a city in the East Midlands in the UK, for those who don't know it, and it's a kinda cool place. Although I was originally born in India and moved here in 1999 when I was 7. I'm from a small village in the northern state of Punjab. It's quite nice to visit every now and then.

Before university I was at a sixth form doing A levels. I studied Computing, Physics and Maths (you might think that's quite heavy) and I quite enjoyed it. I learnt Python (open source 3rd level language) during the two years and it was pretty cool. Bit of a shock to discover how programming in Java is a lot different and harder. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, I suppose I should get used to it for the future.

So, let's talk about music. I like to listen rock music mainly, ranging from alternative indie to a little bit of metal. I quite like The Killers, Muse (need to see them live someday), Lostprophets, Linkin Park, White Lies, Editors, Paramore, I could go on for some time. I also like to play the guitar in my spare time. I've been playing for about 2-3 years. I don't know what grade I am and I've never taken lessons either. Pretty much self taught.

I quite like to watch comedies on the telly every now and then. Some of my favourites include Friends, The IT Crowd, Scrubs, My Family, The Simpson's and so on and so forth. I also like to watch action/adventure/comedy films occasionally. I went to see Knight and Day at the union cinema last weekend. It was really cool. If anyone gets the chance to see it I would definitely recommend it.
