Hello and welcome to my webpage. I am currently a dedicated full time student at the University of Southampton studying Computer Science in the School of Electronics and Computer Science.
I joined the University in September 2010 after studying A levels in Maths, Chemistry, Geography and ICT. Studying this wide range of subjects resulted in me gaining a keen interest in their related fields and also seeing how they are all related in one way or the other.
These studies and the wide range of related extra-curricular activities I pursued at school spurred me to want to study Computer Science for several reasons including:
· Its huge importance in the modern world · The fact it relies on maths and utilises it in a useful context · The fact that the other subjects I studied at A level; Chemistry Geography and ICT all rely on it in many different ways
When I am not doing anything academic you will usually find me watching or taking part in the sports I love: swimming, football, rugby and athletics. As a keen Chelsea FC fan I always try to make time for watching their games as well as watching the English national teams of football and rugby and supporting team GB in athletics and swimming.
As well as taking an interest in sports I enjoy spending time with friends and family, keeping track of the news, listening to music, watching comedy and sci-fi television programmes and in general loving life. In the summer holidays I also work as a professional decorator. I think this balance between work and play has resulted in me usually being a very happy person- the reason people usually comment on the fact I have an almost constant smile on my face. |
