About me
Who am I?
Hi, I'm Ben and I'm an 20 year-old undergraduate at the University of Southampton in the Second year of a Computer Science MEng course.
I've always been fascinated by technology, especially computer software. As a teenager I was introduced to computer programming by a friend and started to program as a hobby. Originally I learnt C, but I'm now also learning Java as part of my course.
I recently completed my first java applet, that simply animates moving coloured balls. It is available on this page, that will hopefully include any future programs I write in my spare time.
I'm particulary interested in learning more about Computer Graphics and Artificial Intelligence. In the future I would love to do research, or work for a start-up company involved in either of these areas.
I'm a casual jogger, I run once or twice a week. I also practice archery, a sport I have just started learning but am thoroughly enjoying. When I'm not busy with work I enjoy socialising with friends, watching television and writing code.
I was born and lived in Canterbury, Kent until September 2010 when I moved to Southampton to take my Computer Science course.
