About
I'm a postgraduate researcher working towards a PhD in the Web Science Doctoral Training Centre at the University of Southampton. I have also completed a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and an MSc in Web Science, both from the University of Southampton
My Research
My research area is examining how charitable organisations can use social media sites to facilitate viral marketing, and subsequently measure the performance of this marketing. Understanding this will allow charities to be informed of what value their online supporters actually provide, and whether this digital form of action can successfully lead to more traditional and meaningful offline action.
This research continues an initial study that was carried out for the completion of an MSc in Web Science. The project produced a starting point for a framework of metrics and measurements that can be used to assess performance of marketing on social media.
