The Russell Group, nineteen of the UK's major research-led universities

echoing the recommendations of the UK Parliamentary Select Committee

by pledging to

    "support the development of institutional repositories of research
    papers... [and to] actively encourage their researchers to deposit
    their work in them".

(Of the Russell Group 84% [16/19] already have institutional repositories.)
