Journal and Publisher policies on author self-archiving (Eprints/ROMEO version)

These summaries are for the publisher's (or journal's) default self-archiving policies and changes or exceptions can often be negotiated by authors. If there are any major stipulations on self-archiving (such as whether or not the author may use the publisher's PDF, and whether the self-archived version should include a link to the publisher's website), they are listed here. For minor stipulations or recommendations there is a link to each publisher's website.

"Green" means the publisher (or journal) has given the green light to self-archive the postprint (bright-green), the preprint (pale-green), or both (bright-green). "Gray" means the publisher (or journal) has not given the green light to self-archive (yet). (Click here for current totals and percentages of green vs. gray publishers (journals) (and eventually also a chart tracking growth of green across time.)
