Imaging Research

My imaging research concentrated on making new higher quality digital capture of objects, typically related to cultural heritage. From the early days of accurate colour high resolution imaging, through printing, web-accessibility to modern work on archaeological imaging.

• Fingartprint - high resolution 3D and spectral imaging for "fingerprinting" art

Image Browsing for the web

• Image browsing for the Web - our IIP-based browser for large image files
• Newest version on Sourceforge developed with the Louvre's Research Labs (C2RMF)

Archaeology imaging

• PTM/RTI imaging - built with/for the Archaeology dept. in Southampton and used in various imaging campaigns

• Archimedes Palimsest - I advised on the imaging system which was inspired by VASARI and on the OCR broken text retrieval
