I am a Senior Researcher in the Intelligence, Agents and Multimedia group at the University of Southampton's School of Electronics and Computer Science (UK). I obtained my PhD in Computer Science at Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). My thesis describes a Semantic Collaborative Awareness Model.

Currently I am a Senior Research Fellow for the EnAKTing project where I am looking at Semantic Web, Linked Data and Distributed Reasoning. This is what keeps me busy these days: (All these projects are part of EnAKTing)

R&D Projects

EnAKTing the Unbounded Data Web: Challenges in Web Science    Distributed Queries, Reasoning and Scalability
In the EnAKTing project I will taking "Semantic Web Reasoning" to Web scale. Basically lot of indexing data, distributed algorithms, scalability and database theory over the next three years ;-)
Market Blended Insight    Semantic Web, Distribute Computing, Data Integration and Web Interfaces.
MBI is a project with a clear objective of making a significant performance improvement in UK business to business (B2B) marketing activities in the 5-7 year timeframe. The project plans to aggregate a broad range of business information, providing unparalleled insight into UK business activity and develop rich semantic search and navigation.
OpenPSI Project    Semantic Web, Data Integration and Data Mash-ups
OpenPSI is a collaboration between the University of Southampton and the UK government, lead by the National Archive, to trial of a new form of community provisioned information service that uses Semantic Web standards to provide an integration point for UK governmental sourced information.
National Transport Information Incubator (NaTII)    Semantic Web, Data Integration and Route Planning
NaTII will provide facilities for experimentation, and so help to persuade owners of data to be more open to collaboration and undertake riskier projects. Its general aim is to improve commercial propositions and enhance information provision for government, planners and the public.
Intelligent Mainframe Grid    Grid and High Performance Computing and Mainframe Downsizing
Intelligent Mainframe Grid is a new solution based on Grid computing technology which enables Open Distributed Systems to run mainframe processes without software modification or data format changes.
DCP-Grid: Distributed Commit Protocols for the Grid    Grid Computing, Data Integration and Distributed Transactions
DCP-Grid complements Web Services with some OGSI functionalities to implement the Two Phase Commit (2-PC) protocol to manage Distribute Transactions properly over Grid Computing environments.
