I'm a lecturer in the Intelligence, Agents and Multimedia group in the University of Southampton's School of Electronics and Computer Science. My key areas of research are the infrastructure of the Semantic Web, and the design and development of knowledge-intensive applications.
I'm currently part of the EU-funded TAO (Transitioning Applications to Ontologies) project, where I'm working on methodologies for Semantic Web Services, and distributed heterogeneous knowledge repositories. Prior to this, I was a member of the EPSRC-funded Advanced Knowledge Technologies (AKT) project, where I investigated scalable techniques for RDF storage and inference (see the AKT Triplestore), the provision of knowledge services using Semantic Web Services, and the design of novel interfaces for the exploration of Semantic Web data.
My other research interests include open hypertext and hypermedia, and large-scale multiagent systems (see my PhD research).
