I am a PhD student in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Southampton, supervised by dr m.c. schraefel.

My interests currently lie in various forms of personal and social awareness for enhancing workplace quality of life. By examining factors from user experience, emotional/affective computing, as well as various forms of psychology, we’re aiming to provide personal and social awareness, towards chances for better engagement, reflection, inspiration and creativity.

I spent hugely enjoyable times in the summer of 2007 interning with Steve Drucker at Live Labs, and the summer (and fall) of 2008 at Microsoft Research, first working with Jaime Teevan and Sue Dumais, and then Ed Cutrell and Desney Tan. This summer (2009) I am staying put, working on my thesis, and buying an ice cream van.

Elsewhere, I like to split my time between turning round and watching people’s faces in the cinema, and getting secretly angry at overheard misinformed conversations in Blockbuster. And then read, dance, eat dessert, and get involved in random art/parody projects.
