Maria Elena Valcher
Maria Elena Valcher received the Master Degree (cum laude) in Electronic Engineering in July 1991 from the University of Padova (Italy) and the Ph.D. Degree in Systems Engineering in October 1995 from the same university. From November 1994 till October 1998 she was Assistant Professor in the Automatic Control area at the Department of Electronics and Computer Science of the University of Padova. From November 1998 to October 2001 she was Associate Professor of System Theory at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Lecce (Italy). She is currently Full Professor of Control Theory at the University of Padova.
She is author/co-author of more than 50 papers appeared on international journals, 60 conference papers and some book chapters. Her research interests include multidimensional systems theory, polynomial matrix theory, behavior theory, convolutional coding, fault detection and observer design, delay-differential systems, switched systems and positive systems. She has been involved in the Organizing Committees and in the Program Committees of several IEEE CSS-sponsored conferences. She was in the Editorial Board of the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control (1999-2002) and she is currently in the Editorial Boards of Automatica, Multidimensional Systems and Signal Processing and of Systems and Control Letters. She is Vice President Member Activities of the IEEE Control System Society since January 2006
