Dr Peter Wilson is an Associate Professor (Reader) in the Electronics and Electrical Engineering group at the University of Southampton.
He teaches courses in the area of Analogue Electronics at undergraduate leveland System on Chip Design Techniques at Masters Level.
He is the course co-ordinator for the MSc in System on Chip, MSc in Microelectronics SYstems Design and the Erasmus Mundus European Masters in Embedded Computing Systems (emecs) at Southampton.
Dr Wilson is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arkansas, USA
He has published over 100 papers, mainly in the areas of power electronics, magnetics, novel processors for image processing, modeling and simulation.
He has also published several books including "Design Recipes for FPGAs", "The Circuit Designer's Companion" (revising the successful book by Tim Williams), and has contributed numerous book chapters including in "Extreme Environment Electronics" published in 2012. His latest book (in conjunction with Professor Alan Mantooth) was published in March 2013 "Model Based Engineering for Complex Electronic Systems".
Dr Wilson has been involved with numerous international conferences including the Technical Program Chair and General Chair of the IEEE Behavioural Modeling and Simulation Workshop. He has also served as the Finance Chair for the European Test Symposium (ETS), Forum on Design Languages (FDL) and also for the European Board Test Workshop (EBTW). He currently is serving as Director of Standards for the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS), session chair for "Power Electronics in Space Applications" at the IEEE Aerospace Conference, is on the TPC of DATE, FDL, Aerospace and is the Chair of IEEE Std 1573. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, Fellow of the IET (IEE) and BCS, and a Chartered Engineer in the UK.
