Currently, there are two plug-ins for PowerPoint which enable it to use TeX to typeset mathematics correctly:
TeXPoint uses TeX to produce a bitmap which is pasted into the PowerPoint file.
TeX4PPT uses a DVI to PowerPoint converter and the result is typeset in PowerPoint using
native windows truetype fonts. This requires PowerPoint 2002 or newer.
