I am a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Electronics and Computer Science of the University of Southampton.
I am excited about addressing the challenges that arise in complex distributed computational systems - from dealing with endemic dynamism and uncertainty to aligning the incentives of multiple competing, self-interested stakeholders.
To address these challenges, my work draws on and extends techniques from the fields of artificial intelligence, decision theory and mechanism design.
I am currently working as part of the ORCHID project, which investigates the interface between human users and autonomous software components ("agents"). As part of this, I am developing application scenarios in the areas of energy management (electric vehicle charging in particular) and disaster response.
Apart from this, I am interested in applying my work to the emerging fields of service-oriented and cloud computing, as well as autonomic supply-chains.
